Tenkara USA’s furled tapered tenkara lines are the easiest lines to cast, and due to their weight they they are better at casting larger flies or casting against wind.
These have been developed to cast in perfect balance with tenkara rods – with power and precision. They will sag slightly under the rod, and absorb a bit of water in the course of fishing, which makes them better for dedicated nymphers or those casting larger bugs.
Tenkara lines come with a transition loop on the thicker end, which will be girth-hitched to the tip of the tenkara rod. Choose the line based on the conditions you are fishing and the rod length of choice. A 9ft line will be good in places with more canopy and narrower waters but also when fishing the shorter rods such as the Rhodo or Hane. A 13ft tapered tenkaraa line will be better in more open waters with any of the rods in our lineup, or when using the longer rods such as the Amago or Ito. Tenkara USA lines are hand-woven by expert line-makers in the United States.
