The 800N Valiant is a great specialty size in the Accurate lineup, in the old Boss Xtreme series it was called the 30N and it’s reminiscent of the Penn International 20’s while being much much lighter. This is a useful size for jigging, whether you’re targeting big bluefin or hard pulling species like grouper or amberjack this reel is easy to use because of how narrow the spool is. The line capacity suffers a bit but for most applications having over 400 yards of 80lb is plenty especially when you have 40lbs of drag to work with.
These reels can even be optioned from the factory with a higher gear set to bring them up to 6/3 instead of 5/2 which would turn it into the BV2-800HN. By default these come with plugs but the lug inserts can be ordered from Accurate in case you’re using a harness. As with all Accurates these can be made to order with any of the handle and knob combos including 100, 110 or 120mm handles and ergonomic SPJ knobs.
