The new Saltiga SPJ rods fill the gap for Daiwas high end market, they already have the reels covered with the industry leading Saltiga Star Drags and Lever Drags. The new rods feature a more sturdy and reinforced blank design which means theyll take a lot more abuse than the current Harrier SP rods, while also providing you with more options for jig ratings. The heavier XXH model rated up to 800g will be interesting for some of our heavier current and deeper water situations since the depth limit for rockfishing has been increased. Daiwa is the distributor for Evergreen lures in the US and to some of you dedicated SPJ followers the Evergreen name might ring a bell. They were the first to engineer, pioneer and market slow pitch jigging in Japan with the help of some very dedicated fisherman. These Saltiga rods feature a lot of the same features and overall design practices from the length collaboration Daiwa has had with Evergreen. These rods use top of the line titanium Fuji guides and graphite trigger reel seats that are standard across the entire SPJ scene.
