The GUSA Premium line of rods and blanks expands on the already great GUSA series with the addition of a spread tow, 22 twill pattern graphite weave. As complicated as it sounds, this is a popular graphite weave for strength and cosmetics in the automotive and aerospace industries that adds to the hoop strength and sensitivity of the blank. With this extra layer you gain an extra line class on the top end line class of the rod compared to the GUSA rods. It gives the RGP rods and GP blanks a faster action than the GUSA series which can be preferable in certain applications such as live bait or heavy bottom fishing.
The standard model of the rod comes with a graphite Fuji reel seat and rubber gimbal while the Plus version comes with an aluminum Alps reel seat and gimbal.
