The 9E is the latest and greatest from United Composite. Its a thorough redesign of the traditional California Jig Stick, with the improvements in material technology Randy from UC has been able to improve on the classic by creating a rod that will throw jigs with much less effort. The 9E has a bit more backbone than the rest of the CE line of 9ft casting rods. This is due to the addition of the twill pattern flat tow woven carbon fiber that is added to the base to strengthen the backbone of the rod giving you much more pulling power than most jig sticks can provide. This increases the durability of the rod while providing strength and cutting down the weight of traditional glass rods. With all of these improvements youll easily notice how much less effort it takes to cast jigs on one of these, the diameter is smaller, its lighter and has a better bend all of which will make it a pleasure to fish all day.
The 9E was originally available as a blank only but UC has decided on doing a production run of finished rods in limited quantity, these rods will include a traditional seine chord deckhand grip, brand new Fuji SIC guides, and a classic low profile aesthetic which will differentiate it from the rest of the rods UC makes.
