The 600 Valiant is the spiritual successor of the old Boss 665H albeit much lighter and more refined. It’s a perfect size for larger surface irons, yoyo irons, dropper loop and heavy bait rigs. It holds up to 500 yards of 80lb braid which makes it a rival of the Avet HX at about the same size. This size is also popular for casting wahoo bombs and jigs since it has a high retrieve rate compared to most reels.
These models come with a clicker and a clamp so you don’t have to worry about it fitting on your deckhand rod. The rubber knob is comfortable but can be switched out to a ball or T handle like some of the heavier duty reels.
