These models unlike the SPJ do come with a clamp but you’ll need a very thin deckhand rod for it to work. These are great reels for 20-50lb line and put out enough drag to stop the bigger grouper in shallower water if line capacity isn’t an issue. This size is especially comfortable to fish since it’s so small but it isn’t a very versatile reel due to the line capacity constraints.
This model now comes with the rubber knob instead of the metal ball handle which makes them a bit heavier but also more ergonomic.
