A few years ago Okuma ended up making a special model of 15TII SEa’s in a gold color since it has been probably the most popular all around size for many different styles of fishing across the country. Okuma now wants to keep their lineup consistent with the SEa colors so they made us a deal we couldn’t refuse on the rest of the stock they had and we are passing along the great deal to you. You will not find a sub $400 reel that is better in quality for heavy duty offshore fishing.
The 15T size is great all around, it will hold over 500 yards of 60lb braid with a short leader or you can even bump up to 80lb for heavy bottom fishing and still get 400 yards of capacity. These reels have open bearings so they will freespool well for casting and enough drag to fish up to 80lb comfortably. The gear ratios are very suited for chasing bigger species as with all of the Makaira’s and these reels even come with optional harness lugs despite the small size.
For our local fishing this would be a great daytime bluefin reel but will also serve well for fishing dropper loop or sinker rig setups for big yellowtail or white seabass. This reel is especially good for fishing live bait even up to the heavier 60-80lb test.
