The new PCH Trolling rods represent a great upgrade over the last generation Makaira trolling rods. The new rods feature an upgraded blank design using both graphite and E-Glass as well as a carbon fiber weave. Along with these changes comes a big improvement in component technology from Alps, the heavy duty roller guides are some of the best in the business. The first guide is an oversized wind-on roller to make sure your larger 50s, 80s and 130s work without any issues.
There will be models in 510, 66 and 610 lengths, which will cover all of your major trolling and swordfishing applications. TRS models have a straight butt and TRB models have a bent butt.
Another major change is in the butt section, gone is the heavy aluminum bent and unibutt. All of the new PCH trolling rods feature a woven carbon fiber butt that drops the overall weight of each rod by 25% when compared to the Makaira series and other competing rods from other manufacturers. Weve received a few of the models that will be available but there will be more to come in the following weeks.
